TFL Farm was established in 2025 on approximately five acres of land in Kawawa, Kilimanjaro. The farm is intended to develop.
Why The Youth?
Tanzania’s young population is a major opportunity, yet many young people face a gap between what they learn and the skills and opportunities needed to build a livelihood.
The Problem: A Gap Between Skills and Opportunity
Over 65% of employers report difficulty finding suitably skilled workers. At the same time, 66% of young Tanzanians aged 18–35 would like to start their own business, while 28% identify lack of entrepreneurial skills or motivation as a barrier to employment.
Research from the University of Dodoma shows that soft skills are an important link between training and employability. As climate and environmental pressures increasingly affect livelihoods, young people also need green skills to build sustainable livelihoods and use resources responsibly. The challenge is not simply education or ambition, but the practical skills, experience and opportunities to turn learning into livelihoods and responsible action.

Our Strategic Approach
We close the gap between potential and opportunity through a comprehensive six-step model designed to transition youth from passive observers to active economic and social leaders.
Identify
We find talented young people excluded from opportunity, not because of ability, but because of poverty, geography, or lack of connections.
Develop
Through Course 4, Kijana Fursa, and Soma na Matumaini, we build practical skills, character, and leadership.
Equip
We connect graduates to seed capital, savings groups, and scholarships to ensure they have the resources to succeed.
Connect
We link youth to mentors, employers, and markets, closing the "experience trap" that keeps first-time job seekers locked out.
Create
Graduates launch businesses and take up employment, creating sustainable income for themselves and new jobs for others.
Lead
Our most committed graduates return as alumni mentors, donors, and future board members, sustaining the cycle for the next cohort.
